[attr="class","athread"]Annie had been promised a battle for the ages, and by Arceus, she was going to get it.
It was that train of thought that led her and her fellow fighter deep into Dragnor. Those that delved into the kingdom’s mountain forests would find her in a clearing, staring down her apparent adversary. Wiggling fingers hovered above her blade, but the three dots above her head told that she had at least one menu open. Setting up before the next battle, most likely. Her character’s eyes were fixed on the man’s face, and by extension, the space behind him, watching and waiting for… something.

A shadowy aura surrounds the rogue as he creeps closer to his target, indicating that his character is 'stealthed'. It has little effect on the vision of other players, and mostly serves to trick any mobs that might stray too close. This area is mostly deserted when it comes to the Pokemon mobs, however, the perfect place for players to catch one another off guard.[break][break]

She's in a menu, and he's got his daggers out ready to strike. They drip with a threatening green ooze, poisoned. Sharp eyes are locked to hers, watching, waiting for an opportune time to strike...

[attr="class","ithread"][attr="class,"brawler"]iris has found that a few hours of intense training could work wonders. now familiar with the mechanics of the game, and with a few new moves to boot, she was ready to put her fighting skills to the test. she's leapt her way onto a ledge and lies in wait, eyes on Cillian Quinn. it seems like the man has in own target in mind.

he waits at a rather peaceful area for an acquaintance, wanting to force them to carry him throughout a grind for materials, when he senses people approach. the most sensible thing was to hide, since he's alone, and wait for things to happen.

he feels like tensions start to rise. he sees three, all of whom seems to just wait for a signal for them to start the fight. kyle is more than welcome to give it to them.

from the bushes below, he takes a pebble and throws it across in between the fighter and the rogue. the slightest movements usually break the ice most of the time. as soon as the action takes place, he hides in the shadows with phantom force before any eyes could spot him.

[attr="class","athread"]Just as the rogue had predicted, a poor sap took the bait. A girl in the corner of her vision might have been hidden, if Annie had truly been distracted. The ellipsis disappeared, but the only warning of her attack was a bend of her knees. Then-

“Ultimeeeeeite Greeting!” Accelerock propelled the girl off the ground, wild winds dispersed as she blitzed through the air. Her sword stayed sheathed as her body became the weapon, glowing white as she rammed shoulder-first into their would-be attacker.

He finds himself faced with a rabbit-eared brawler whose status bar indicates she's been the subject of a rather hefty boost. His Shadow Tag symbol has been replaced with a different icon indicating an inability to escape: now, even if he goes down, it seems the rabbit's in it for the long haul.[break][break]

Just as they'd planned, and ignorant to the presence of a fourth player creeping in the shadows, Gavin dashes behind the brawler with twin daggers raised in an attempt to backstab with twineedle, hoping to poison.[break][break]

[attr="class","ithread"][attr="class,"brawler"]a girl comes charging at her; this is no surprise to iris. using DETECT to pinpoint the moment of her attack, she dodges the moment before it lands.

what does catch her off guard, however, is the rogue moving to attack at the same time. she supposes she shouldn't be surprised, safety in numbers and all. perhaps this had been the plan from the beginning. iris forces herself to take the brunt of the attack, holding back a wince as the two needles pierce skin.

kyle tries to climb a tree while under the cover of shadows. it's an awkward process, but the action masks his intent.

above, he deactivates the stealth of his phantom force and tries to observe how things went. two of them worked together to fight the third player. ganging up on her meant that they'll go for him next. he backs up the bunny girl.

he forms a gun with his finger and fires a confuse ray towards the rogue. it camouflages from the sky's light, but it doesn't hide the status effect in their status screen. kyle hopes the chaos below makes it easier to mask his presence.

if he was going to make things easier for the brawler, someone who has a chance to be a type resistant to a brawler's attacks was a better target. besides, brawlers usually are able to handle fighters well under normal circumstances.

The blade shone blue as she freed it from its sheathe – the brawler’s warning of the Breaking Swipe that would follow. One swing across the girl’s chest did the trick.

Confusion is an all too familiar status effect for the rogue. His screen distorts under its effects, and he knows that the rabbit girl is not alone. Was it an ally of hers, or simply another player looking to compound upon chaos? He can't say for sure, but unless they have a weapon that gives them access to a different type of move...[break][break]

He'd seen the lack of effect his Twineedle had on her health bar, and Gavin fears the worst: if she's ground-type, he's in for a rough time. Still, he can't see the supposed ranger, especially not with his warped vision, and does his best with twineedle against @iris once more.[break][break]

busied by the rabbit girl, kyle prepares another attack from the shadow, aiming for the warrior this time instead.

he prepares an arrow, waiting for when she attempts to attack their victim, before timing it with her swing and firing off a nuzzle at the same moment as her swing, attempting to both damage and paralyze with the same attack.

the arrow cements his presence in the battlefield. he no longer is a spectator to this battle. aaaaaaa the ranger has joined the skirmish.

[attr="class","athread"]Ice. The bane of her existence, and a skill a brawler shouldn’t have had access to. The warrior had seen felt enough of the cold to near-instinctively trigger her next move as soon as it appeared. Her attack animation ended as soon as damage was dealt, but before the swing had completed – such was King’s Shield blatant disregard for speed. The sword planted itself into the ground, defending her not only from a brutal blow, but an arrow she’d never seen coming. Her surprise was barely audible; her smirk, much more visible.

She kept her voice low enough that the sniper would struggle to hear. “Right you are. Think I’ve already got a nice girl in my sights, though.” Once she could spare a second to find out where the fourth fighter was, all bets were off.

The ranger reveals himself not a moment later, an arrow sparking under the effects of his nuzzle flying from his cover to strike the warrior. Thankfully, Annie was quicker on the draw with her activation of a shield.[break][break]

"CC'll pin us down for the kill," he warns Annie, before turning his attention to where the shot had come from.[break][break]

He's fought this guy before, he realises, as he turns to face him. He can only hope that the barcode prick isn't hiding out in the weeds; then they'd all be fucked.[break][break]

Not one to flee the battle when an ally still stood, Gavin tilts his dagger to fire a dark pulse from the hilt.[break][break]
